about (f)empowered communications
(f)empowered communications is a marketing communications agency for women, by a woman.
I offer tailored solutions to your social media headaches, whether it’s figuring out what to post, how to refine your brand identity, to understanding how social media works to begin with.
(f)empowered is a year old, and in that time I’ve helped at least 7 small business owners level up their social media game to grow their business.
When you hire me, I’m not going to make you dependent on me. In fact, by the end of our relationship, I want you to be able to have the confidence to do what I do. I want to walk away knowing I have empowered you with the skills and knowledge to take your business to the next level, and be the leader you were always meant to be.

about me
First the basics: I’ve been working in marketing and PR since I was 19, including working for local government, an arts not-for-profit, an overseas tourism department and a national charity. That currently totals 14 years experience (I’ll let you do the maths!)
Now, onto the fun stuff! As you might have guessed from the photo, I’m a mum to 2 year old Ryan. It’s a juggle, and involves some long nights but it’s all worth while knowing I’m not sacrificing time with him, nor time for myself.
Thankfully, I have the support of my partner, Richard, and my mum. Richard chips in any way he can – from cooking dinners and washing up, looking after Ryan when I have work/life conflicts, and never complaining about my unusual work routine. My mum is my daycare, and if you live in Hedland, you know how hard daycare is to find, so I’m eternally grateful that she is always happy to have Ryan at the drop of a hat.
Other fun facts about me:
- I love to travel. I used to travel overseas at least twice a year, and in this era of Covid-19, I’m so glad I did it while I could.
- I enjoy baking; more specifically I enjoy feeding people baked goods! There’s something so therapeutic about baking, it’s my escape.
- I’m an avid reader, and have been as far as I can remember. I don’t even know how many books I have read, but I do know SE Hinton’s ‘The Outsiders’ and the Harry Potter Series rate highly.
- I love watching crime drama on TV. I mean, is there nothing more thrilling than watching the good guys catch the bad guys?!
